A good early 19th century food cupboard – “Cwpwrdd Bara caws” – “Bread & Cheese cupboard”
Welsh oak and pine food cupboard, decorated with mahogany and bog oak inlay, bog oak key escutcheons, decorative fret work ventilation panels to the top doors and turned beech handles.
This style of inlay with the pattern of diamonds and circles is associated with furniture made by the Williams family from Talwrn in Anglesey who were cabinet makers during the late 18th and early 19th century.
