Three 19th century Welsh slate model shoes.

A. 4½” long x ½” deep x ¾” high / 11.4cm long x 1.2cm deep x 1.9cm high £195 with hand written label to the sole ‘Penrhyn Sletquarry, Bangor, Wales.

B. 5 ¼” long x 1¼” deep x 1¼” high / 13.5cm long x 3cm deep x 3cm high £195

C. 4 ¼” long x 1’ deep x 1½” high / 10cm long x 2.5cm deep x 3.8cm high £195 with finely carved detail. SOLD

Items of folkart decorated slate can be found from all parts of the slate quarrying areas of North Wales and include miniature chests of drawers, shoes & doorstops etc.

Some items were made as gifts or entered into competitions at the Eisteddfodau.
