A small stick chair with an unusual single piece back splat which is made from ash, and retains its original reddish-brown paint. Interestingly, there are three stretchers and no evidence of a fourth at the front. This will have been deliberate as it allowed for the comfort of the sitter who could have tucked their feet beneath the seat.

Welsh, Late 18th/early 19th century.

20”wide x 17” deep x 36½” high / 51cm wide x 43cm deep x 93cm high
