An early 19th century Welsh oak “coffor-bach” (small coffer), with rare owners or makers name stamped into the oak back board – John Awbrey, Langadock.

The coffor bach seems to have been peculiar to Wales. Often thought to have been given as a love token or wedding gift, the coffor bach was often a piece which had great sentiment having been handed down through families.

L(l)angadock or Llangadog is a village and community located in Carmarthenshire, Wales, which also includes the villages of Bethlehem and Capel Gwynfe.

Some replaced moulding and repair. The brass ware is old but not the original.
