A wonderful 18th century inlaid Welsh oak chest or coffer. The two part chest is made from well figured oak and has three raised front panels which are beautifully decorated with flowing and contrasting bog-oak and holly inlay. The frame around the inlaid panels is decorated with ash herring-bone style cross banding and this is detail is repeated to the drawers and feet.
